The Story of U.S. Army HBT Shirts
Introduced in 1941, the HBT (Herringbone Twill) fabric quickly became the standard field uniform of U.S. soldiers during World War II. Its distinctive chevron weave provided both durability and breathability, ideal for hot climates and heavy use.
After 1945, these shirts continued to be worn during the Korean War (1950–53), before being gradually replaced in the early 1960s by the cotton sateen OG-107 uniforms.
Today, an original HBT shirt embodies the authentic spirit of U.S. military vintage: both a piece of history and an iconic garment, prized for its rugged, functional, and timeless style.
